Eddie Hall was born on February 3, 1912, in Chicago, Illinois. He was married three times, first to Violet N. Cane, then to Helen Patricia Stengel, and finally to Flower Parry. Hall had one child with each of his wives. He also served as a stepfather to Jackie Coogan Jr. and Matt Cope. After leaving the film industry in 1948, he worked as a used car salesman.

Eddie Hall passed away on February 19, 1963, in Granada Hills, California, due to a heart attack.
