Eddy Duchin was married twice. His first marriage was to Marjorie de Loosey Oelrichs, with whom he had one child, Peter Duchin. They were married from June 5, 1935, until her death on August 3, 1937. Later, he married Maria Theresa Paske-Smith, known as Chiquita Winn, on November 3, 1947, and they remained together until his passing in 1951.
Career
Duchin started his career as a pianist with Leo Reisman and His Orchestra after leaving his pharmacy studies. His talent and charm led him to take over the leadership of the Central Park Casino Orchestra in 1931. He gained fame through radio broadcasts and performances at prestigious venues like the Waldorf-Astoria and the Plaza Hotel.
