He represented famous clients like Ginger Rogers and Barbara Stanwyck. In 1985, he retired from being an agent to focus on his acting career.

Career

Beginning his career on Broadway, Small later produced and directed radio programs in New York. He moved to Los Angeles in the early 1950s, where he served as an assistant to renowned producers Don Hartman at Paramount and Edwin H. Knopf at MGM. Small also authored a memoir titled “From Agent to Actor: An Unsentimental Education,” reflecting on his unique journey in the entertainment industry.
