Edyth was born Edith Louise Latimer in 1883 in Leadville, New South Wales, Australia. She was the daughter of Henry Latimer and Elizabeth Jane Lillyman. Edyth was married twice; her first husband was actor William Haviland, with whom she had one child. After Haviland’s death, she married cinema owner William John Repard in 1920, and they also had one child together.
