She was married to Nikolai Ivanovich Kuzminsky from 1958 until their divorce in 1985. Elina also worked as a medical nurse during the Second World War before pursuing her dream of acting.
Career
Beginning her acting career at the Kiev Theatrical Institute, Elina quickly rose to fame after starring as Aksinya in the film Quiet Flows the Don. This role became her signature performance, and she was celebrated as the “Best Soviet actress” in 1955.
