Elsa Prawitz was a Swedish actress, screenwriter, and music lyricist, best known for her roles in various Swedish films and theatrical productions. Born on February 22, 1932, in Stockholm, she became prominent in the acting world through her work at several prestigious theaters.

Elsa Prawitz was married three times. Her first marriage was to Måns Westfelt from 1951 to 1955, followed by Arne Mattsson from 1956 until their divorce in 1965. She then married Henric Bildt in 1971, remaining together until her passing.

Career

Prawitz began her acting journey with Studentteatern and studied at the Royal Dramatic Theatre School from 1950 to 1954. She gained great recognition for her performance in the play “Ägget!” at Intiman in 1959 and participated in the Karl Gerhard Revue “Ursäkta handsken” in 1961. Known for portraying complex, sensual characters, she featured in numerous productions directed by Arne Mattsson throughout her career.

Death and Legacy

Elsa Prawitz passed away on May 1, 2001, in Stockholm, Sweden. Her contributions to Swedish theater and film continue to be remembered, and she is celebrated for her dynamic performances over her 25-year acting career.
