Emmy Lynn was born Emily Leigh and had a daughter, Gladys Lynn-Gautier, with her partner, the director, and silent film actor Henri Roussel. Gladys pursued a brief acting career before retiring in 1946 to marry French author Jean-Jacques Gautier. In 1936, Lynn married Charles Peignot, a wealthy manufacturer, who remained with her until her passing.
