Enid Bennett was born on July 15, 1893, in York, Western Australia. She had two sisters, Catherine Bennett and Marjorie Bennett, both of whom were also actresses. Enid was married twice, first to director Fred Niblo, with whom she had three children, and later to director Sidney Franklin.

Career

Beginning her career on stage in Sydney, Enid eventually made her way to Broadway in New York. After facing initial difficulties due to her Australian accent, she landed a role in the play “Cock of the Walk,” which caught the attention of film producer Thomas H. Ince. This opportunity led her to work in Hollywood, where she had a notable film career, starring in several popular films until her retirement.

Death and Legacy

Enid Bennett passed away on May 14, 1969, in Malibu, California, due to a heart attack. Her contributions to film, especially during the silent era, left a lasting impact, and she is remembered as a talented actress of her time.
