Career Transition

To clear his debts, Haigh started writing sensational crime film scripts for the Frederick White Company, despite potential consequences from the Metropolitan Police. The police tried to stop him by threatening to revoke his pension. Nonetheless, he resigned and went on to create several films under his own series, “Secrets of Scotland Yard,” where he starred in numerous silent movies.

Ernest Haigh passed away on November 15, 1938, in Ropley, Hampshire, England.
