Estelle Bennett was born on July 22, 1941, in New York City, New York. She had a close-knit family; her older sister is the renowned singer Ronnie Spector, and she is related to Nedra Talley, her cousin. Estelle had one child, Toyin Hunter, and was also an aunt to Austin Drew and Jason Charles Greenfield.
Death and Legacy
Estelle Bennett passed away on February 11, 2009, in Englewood, New Jersey, due to colon cancer. She left behind a musical legacy as a member of the iconic girl group, The Ronettes, which was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2007. Estelle was recognized for her contributions to rock music and was ranked #67 on VH1’s Greatest Women of Rock N Roll.
