Evelyn Francis

Evelyn Francis was a Canadian actress who is best known for her role in The Scarlet Letter (1995). Born on May 24, 1938, in Amherst, Nova Scotia, she spent much of her life contributing to her community in Boston.

Personal and Family Life

Evelyn was the daughter of Barnaby Peter Francis and Mary Agnes Francis (née Knockwood). Throughout her life, she was actively involved in her community, helping to establish the Boston Indian Council. She later worked for Acadia First Nation in Yarmouth, and also drove a school bus in Boston while enjoying playing softball in her free time.

Death and Legacy

Evelyn passed away on January 28, 2015, at the Yarmouth Regional Hospital in Nova Scotia. Her contributions to the Indigenous community and her participation in local organizations reflect her dedication to her heritage. Despite her limited film appearances, her role in The Scarlet Letter (1995) remains a notable part of her legacy.
