Personal and Family Life
Faith Domergue was born on June 16, 1924, in New Orleans, Louisiana. She was part Creole and primarily of Irish and English descent. Adopted at six weeks old, her family moved to California when she was young, where she attended Catholic schools. Domergue married three times, first to Teddy Stauffer, then to Hugo Fregonese, with whom she had two children, and finally to Paolo Cossa.
Career
Faith’s acting career began after a Warner Brothers talent scout discovered her in 1941. She changed her name to Faith Dorn and later to Faith Domergue. She starred in several films, including the iconic sci-fi movie This Island Earth in 1955. While she appeared in numerous movies, she is mostly remembered for her work in the science fiction and horror genres from the 1950s.
Death and Legacy
Faith Domergue passed away on April 4, 1999, in Santa Barbara, California, due to cancer. Although she did not reach major stardom, she gained a cult following, especially for her role in This Island Earth. Her contributions to the sci-fi genre have left a lasting impression in film history.
