Frances was born Frances Beatrice Satz to parents Bert Harold Satz and Theresa Beatrice Keating. She had two children, James Michael Epstein and Elizabeth Epstein, from her marriage with Julius J. Epstein. Frances was married twice; her first marriage was to Julius J. Epstein from 1936 until their divorce in 1944, and she later married Nedrick Young in 1945.
