Frank Buxton

Frank Buxton was an American actor who is best known for his roles in Overboard, Beaches, and Mork & Mindy.

Personal and Family Life

Born in Wellesley, Massachusetts, on February 13, 1930, Frank grew up in Larchmont, New York. He graduated from Northwestern University with a Bachelor of Science and earned a Master’s degree from Syracuse University. Frank married Cynthia Lovelace Sears on January 8, 1982, and they remained together until his death in 2018.

Career

Frank began his career after serving in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He worked in television as a producer and director and gained fame as a stand-up comedian and TV host. He co-hosted the children’s program Discovery ’70 and created the Peabody Award-winning series Hot Dog. Frank also contributed to many well-known shows, including The Odd Couple and Happy Days.

Death and Legacy

Frank Buxton passed away on January 2, 2018, in Bainbridge Island, Washington, due to heart problems. After his death, his ashes were given to his wife, Cynthia. His legacy continues through his work in television, film, and theater, as well as his contributions to the entertainment industry.
