Fred Feast was educated at the Graham School in Scarborough. He served six years in the Royal Air Force as a parachute and physical training instructor. In 1955, he married Kathleen, and together they had three daughters: Julia, Andrea, and Helen.
Career
Fred began his career as a variety artist and a stand-up comic, working at London’s Windmill Theatre. He became a well-known face on television, particularly noted for his role as Fred Gee in “Coronation Street,” a part he played from 1976 to 1984. Despite facing challenges with memorizing lines, he found creative ways to manage, including hiding prompts in a sports paper.
Death and Legacy
In 1985, Fred was diagnosed with throat cancer, which affected his life and career. He passed away on June 25, 1999, in Bridlington, Yorkshire. Fred is remembered for his contributions to television and his involvement in various performances throughout his career.
