Frederick Long

Frederick Long was an American actor who is best known for his roles in St. Elsewhere, The Twilight Zone, and Freddy’s Nightmares.

Frederick Long was born on February 9, 1948, in Alton, Illinois. He moved to Los Angeles with his mother in 1952 and became involved in the Rock and Roll scene during his teenage years. He served in the U.S. Army before finding his way into acting, which began unexpectedly in 1977.

Career

Long’s acting career took off after he got a part in the movie Joyride to Nowhere, and he gained further recognition through his work on The Gong Show. He had a notable role in 1985 when he appeared as Gramma in a segment of The Twilight Zone, adapted from a Stephen King story. Long also ventured into writing and produced works like King’s Pawn and Driving Me Crazy.

Frederick Long passed away on October 22, 2004, in Las Vegas, Nevada, due to natural causes.
