Gene Patton

Gene Patton was an American actor who is best known for his role as “Gene! Gene! The Dancing Machine!” on The Gong Show, as well as appearances in Confessions of a Dangerous Mind and My Tutor. He became a beloved figure in entertainment for his energetic performances and unique persona.

Gene Patton was born Eugene Sidney Patton on April 25, 1932, in Berkeley, California. He had a family that included four children with his first wife, Doris M. Prince, whom he was married to until her death in 2007. He also had five children from his marriage to Carol Larson, which ended in divorce. Gene had a sister named Henrietta, who had a significant health struggle but appeared in a film later in life.

Death and Legacy

Gene Patton passed away on March 9, 2015, in Pasadena, California, due to complications from diabetes. His legacy lives on through his children and grandchildren, as well as his contributions to television and film. He is remembered for breaking barriers as the first African-American member of the International Alliance of Theatrical and Stage Employees, Local 33.
