George Latka

George Latka was an American actor who is best known for Raging Bull, Split Decisions, and Frank’s Place. He was also a professional boxer turned boxing referee and judge, recognized for his unique achievements in both fields.

George Latka was born on November 12, 1914, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He had two marriages, first to Kay Latka, with whom he was married until her death in 1972, and later to Trudie Latka in 1973. He was known for his passion for education, having received a Bachelor of Science degree in education from San José State University, making him one of the few professional boxers with a university degree.

Death and Legacy

George Latka passed away on December 26, 2007, in Huntington Beach, California. His contributions to boxing and acting left a lasting legacy, and he was inducted into the World Boxing Hall of Fame in 1992. Latka is remembered not only for his achievements inside the boxing ring but also for his roles in film and television.
