Born Jacques Maline on October 11, 1922, in Clichy, France, Georges Aminel had a Parisian mother and a father from Martinique. Growing up biracial presented him with challenges as he sought to make a name for himself in the theater world. He began his acting career at just 19 in a play.

Career

Throughout his career, Aminel faced many ethnic roles which he found unsatisfactory. However, he eventually secured more significant parts and became the first Creole actor to join the prestigious Comédie Française. After leaving the company in 1972, he focused on dubbing, where he excelled in voicing notable characters.

Death and Legacy

Georges Aminel passed away on April 29, 2007, in Paris, France, and was laid to rest at Père Lachaise cemetery.
