Personal and Family Life
Georgia Davis was born on September 17, 1921, in Glenwood Springs, Colorado. She was married to comedian Red Skelton from March 9, 1945, until their divorce in September 1973. Together, they had two children: Richard Freeman Skelton and Valentina Marie Skelton. Tragically, her son Richard passed away at a young age, just before his tenth birthday, from leukemia.
Death and Legacy
Georgia Davis passed away on May 10, 1976, in Rancho Mirage, California. She took her own life, shooting herself on the anniversary of her son Richard’s death. Davis was entombed at Forest Lawn, Glendale, in the Great Mausoleum, Sanctuary of Benediction. Her life and career are remembered, marked by both her film roles and personal hardships.
