She left home at the young age of 14 to perform with a stock company in Pennsylvania and eventually created a vaudeville act with Lee Gresham called “Gresham and Blake.” The duo became popular and went on to perform in Hollywood, where Gladys caught the attention of a film agent. She later married Lee Gresham, her partner in both personal and professional life.
