Glenn Davis was an American actor who is best known for The Spirit of West Point, The Way It Was, and Columbia Sports Reel: Army Football Champions. Born on December 26, 1924, in Claremont, California, he gained fame not only for his acting but also for his outstanding football career.

Personal and Family Life

Glenn Davis was married three times. His first marriage was to Terry Moore from February 9, 1951, until their divorce on April 1, 1952. He then married Harriet Ellen Lancaster on April 17, 1953, and they remained together until her death in 1995. His last marriage was to Yvonne Ameche, who he married on July 12, 1996, and they were together until his passing in 2005.

Achievements

He was famous in football for winning the 1946 Heisman Trophy and was later inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1961. Known as “Mr. Outside,” he was recognized for his unique style on the field, often running around the ends, contrasting with his teammate Felix “Doc” Blanchard, who was known as “Mr. Inside.” Davis also generously gave his Heisman Trophy to Bonita High School in La Verne, California.
