Glenn Leigh Marshall was an American actor who is best known for “The Enforcer,” “Raging Bull,” and “Stripes.” Born as Ellis James DiCosola, he made a mark in the entertainment industry primarily as a day player and stuntman.
Personal and Family Life
Glenn was born on July 7, 1947, to an English mother and a Greek father in Chicago, Illinois. He was raised by his mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. He married Diane Hale in 1968 and had three children together. However, the marriage eventually ended in divorce.
Career
Glenn began his acting career in Chicago before moving his family to Los Angeles to expand his opportunities. He worked mainly as a stuntman and in minor acting roles, with his most notable performance as a drill instructor in “The Enforcer.” His pursuit of acting took him to Italy, where he worked in various television productions.
Death and Legacy
Glenn battled throat cancer, first diagnosed in the early 1990s. Although he initially triumphed over the illness, it returned in the late 1990s. He chose to refuse chemotherapy during his second fight against cancer and passed away on April 24, 2002, in Tucson, Arizona. His remains were returned to Chicago, where he is buried at St. Michael the Archangel cemetery.
