Gloria was born as Ruth Stevenson and had a close bond with her twin sister, Barbara. They were recognized as “The Most Beautiful Twins in America” after being discovered by a talent agent at the San Diego County Fair. Gloria married Claude Stroud in 1941, and they had a loving relationship until his death in 1985.
