Grace Bradley

Grace Bradley was an American actress who is best known for her roles in films such as The Cat’s-Paw, Brooklyn Orchid, and Six of a Kind. She was born on September 21, 1913, in Brooklyn, New York City, and became known for her appearances in various “B” films.

Personal and Family Life

Grace Bradley was married to William Boyd on June 5, 1937, after a brief courtship. She had been a fan of Boyd since childhood and fondly referred to him as her “Prince Charming.” The couple remained married for 35 years until Boyd’s death in 1972. They did not have children, but Boyd had one child from a previous marriage.

Career

Grace began her career as a concert pianist, performing at Carnegie Hall at age 15. Eventually, she transitioned into acting and became known for playing assertive female roles in numerous films. Her early work included singing and dancing in Broadway musicals and her film debut in Too Much Harmony (1933). During her career, she often portrayed characters with names like Goldie, Trixie, and Flossie in various productions.

Death and Legacy

Grace Bradley passed away on her 97th birthday, September 21, 2010, in Dana Point, California. She was laid to rest next to her husband at Forest Lawn Memorial Park in Glendale, California. Throughout her later years, she was actively involved in volunteer work and continued to preserve her husband’s legacy, fighting for the rights to his film character “Hopalong Cassidy.”
