Hal Lewis

Hal Lewis was an American actor who is best known for Hawaii Five-O and his work in radio under the name “Aku”. He was born as Herschel Laib Hohenstein on April 14, 1917, in New York, New York, USA.

Personal and Family Life

Hal Lewis married Emma Veary in 1968, and they remained together until his passing in 1983. Throughout his career, he spent many years with KSSK radio in Honolulu, where he became well-known for his personality. He also recorded the song “My Little Buckaroo”.

Hal Lewis passed away on July 21, 1983, in Honolulu, Hawaii, due to lung cancer. After his death at the age of 66, his ashes were scattered at sea. His contribution to television and radio left a lasting impression in Hawaii.
