Hal Riddle

Hal Riddle was an American actor who is best known for his roles in “Cop Hater,” “The Ratings Game,” and “Murder in the First Person Singular.” He had a long career in film and television, appearing in numerous productions throughout his life.

Hal Riddle was born William Harold Riddle on December 11, 1917, in Fulton, Kentucky. He studied acting at Sanford Meisner’s Neighborhood Playhouse and attended Murray State University. Riddle developed a passion for acting after receiving an autographed photo from silent film star Billie Dove, which motivated him to pursue a career in entertainment.

Career

Riddle’s acting career began in summer stock in Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he roomed with future star Jack Lemmon. He worked as an extra and appeared in four movies featuring Elvis Presley. Over his career, Riddle participated in about two dozen films and more than 400 television shows, showcasing his talent and dedication to the craft.

Death and Legacy

Hal Riddle passed away on June 17, 2009, in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles, California. He left behind a rich legacy in the film and television industry, as well as a significant collection of movie memorabilia, which he donated to his alma mater, Murray State University, in 2001.
