Hank Penny was born on September 18, 1918, in Birmingham, Alabama. He was married twice; first to Sue Thompson from 1953 to 1963, and then to Shari Penny from 1967 until his death. He was the father of five children, including actress Sydney Penny and Greg Penny.

Professional Career

Penny was not only an actor but also a prominent country and western entertainer. He opened The Palomino Club in North Hollywood in 1949, which became a popular venue for jazz musicians. The club served traditional Southern food, offering black-eyed peas, cornbread, and buttermilk to its guests.

Death and Legacy
