Hans was the son of actor Hans Hermann Schaufuß and had a brother named Peter-Timm, who was also in the acting profession. He began portraying more serious roles in films from the mid-1930s, showcasing his versatility as an actor.

Career Highlights

Schaufuß gained immense popularity as “Gustav mit der Hupe” in the hit movie Emil und die Detektive (1931). His career, however, was cut short when he was killed in combat during World War II, making him one of several young actors from the film who lost their lives while serving in the military.
