Hans Thimig

Hans Thimig was born into a family with strong ties to the theater; his father was an actor and director at the Burgtheater in Vienna. He had a sister, Helene Thimig, and a brother, Hermann Thimig, both of whom were also involved in acting. Thimig married actress Christl Mardayn in 1929, and later married Helene Rauch in 1945, with whom he had two children.

Career

Thimig had a long career at the Vienna Burgtheater and the Theater in der Josefstadt. He became the director of the prestigious Max Reinhardt Seminar in Vienna in 1959, taking over from his sister Helene upon her retirement. His career thrived, particularly with the transition to sound films, allowing him to continue acting alongside his siblings.
