He initially appeared in a walk-on role in ‘Iphigenia in Aulis’ before his first speaking role in ‘Pericles’ at the Old Birmingham Repertory Theatre. Following his National Service in the Royal Air Force, he continued to work in repertory theatre before moving to the United States.
