Harold Meade was born to Robert Meadmore, a clerk for an Australian merchant, and Clemence Désirée, who was from France. Originally from a family that favored secure jobs, he ventured into acting instead. He married Mary Kathleen Clarke in 1915, but their marriage ended in divorce by 1921.

Career

Meade began his acting career in the United States, starring in films like “Salomy Jane” and “The Rose of the Misty Pool.” In the 1920s, he returned to London and performed in several West End plays, including George Bernard Shaw’s “The Glimpse of Reality.” He later moved to Australia, where he appeared in films and radio productions.

Death and Legacy

Harold Meade passed away on March 22, 1944, in Sydney, Australia, and was buried at the Botany Church of England Cemetery. His contributions to film and theater left a mark, and he is remembered for his roles in early cinema and theater.
