Helen Shields was born on March 17, 1915, in Belize City, British Honduras. She was married twice; her first marriage was to John Boruff from 1937 until their divorce in 1951. Later, she married William Kemp in 1952, and they remained together until her death in 1963. Helen had one child with William Kemp.
