Macon, Missouri-born Henderson Forsythe was an American actor best known for his role as Dr. David Stewart on the long-running soap opera As the World Turns (1956). He had a successful career in film, stage, and television, winning a Tony Award in 1979 for his performance in the Broadway production of ‘The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas.’

Henderson Forsythe was born on September 11, 1917, in Macon, Missouri. He married Dorothea Maria Carlson on May 26, 1942, and they had two children together. Forsythe served as an Army captain during World War II and studied theater at the University of Iowa, which contributed to his strong foundation in acting.
Death and Legacy
Forsythe passed away on April 17, 2006, in Williamsburg Landing, Virginia, at the age of 88 from undisclosed causes. His legacy lives on through his extensive work in theater and television, as well as the many fans he garnered over his impressive three-decade career on soap operas.
