Henry James Marris-McGee was born on May 14, 1928, in Kensington, London, England. He was the son of a Rolls-Royce engineer and received his education at Stonyhurst. After completing his National Service in the Royal Navy, he pursued a career in acting and attended the Italia Conti Stage Academy.
