Hubert H. Humphrey

Hubert H. Humphrey was an American politician who is best known for serving as the 38th Vice President of the United States from 1965 to 1969, and representing Minnesota in the Senate during two periods from 1949 to 1964 and 1971 to 1978. He was also the Democratic Party’s candidate in the 1968 presidential election.

Hubert Horatio Humphrey Jr. was born on May 27, 1911, in Wallace, South Dakota. He was married to Muriel Buck Humphrey on September 3, 1936, and together they had four children. Hubert had a sister named Frances Humphrey Howard. Throughout his life, he was known for his high-pitched and often squeaky voice.

Hubert Humphrey passed away on January 13, 1978, in Waverly, Minnesota, due to bladder cancer. His impact on American politics is noted by his commitment to civil rights and social justice.
