Cross gained fame playing Robert Brown, William’s older brother, in two Just William films during the 1940s. He later portrayed Mr. Brown, William’s father, in the Just William television series in 1977. In addition to his memorable roles, he was also on the shortlist for the character Dr. Hillard in the 1960 film Once More, with Feeling!
