Inger Worren was a Norwegian actress, born on December 25, 1908, in Ålesund, Norway. She is best known for her roles in the children’s film “Toya” and the TV mini-series “Den som henger i en tråd”.
Personal and Family Life
Inger Worren was the daughter of merchant Olai Worren and Antonette Andreassen. Growing up in a large family in Ålesund, she was one of the youngest siblings. She married Einar Brun Hivju on July 15, 1939, and they had two children together, one of whom is actor Erik Hivju. Inger was also a grandmother to actor Kristofer Hivju.
Career Highlights
Inger had a passion for storytelling from a young age and participated in school performances. After an unsuccessful attempt to join a theater school, she trained as a nurse and worked in a hospital for several years. In 1937, she began her acting career at Trøndelag Teater in Trondheim, where she spent most of her professional life, aside from a 13-year period at Rogaland Theater in Stavanger. Although she was expected to have a successful film career, she only appeared in a couple of screen roles.
Death and Legacy
Inger Worren passed away on September 20, 1997, in Trondheim, Norway. She was honored as an honorary member of the Norwegian Actor’s Association and was awarded The King’s Medal of Merit in gold in 1979. Her contributions to the arts and her family continue to be remembered, especially through her children and grandchildren who are involved in the acting industry.
