Ivan married Wera Engels on January 25, 1941, and they remained together until his death in 1953. He also had a grandnephew, Jean Lebedew.
Military Service and Early Career
During World War I, Ivan volunteered for the Third Regiment of the Imperial Dragoons, achieving fame for capturing a German general. He faced many challenges during the Russian Revolution, leading him to escape to various European cities.
