Personal and Family Life
Jack was married to Joan Odiorne from 1954 until his death in 1993, and they had two children together. In addition to acting, he served as a high school track and cross-country coach in California, where he often carried a clipboard, similar to his film role as a coach.
Career
Before pursuing acting, Jack had a background in athletics, being an All-American in football and track at Pepperdine University. He played with the NFL teams Baltimore Colts and Los Angeles Rams, and later joined the CFL Hamilton Tiger-Cats.
