He was married three times, first to the famous actress Ginger Rogers, with whom he had a show titled “Ginger and Pepper”. His second marriage was brief, and he eventually married Dawn Stanton, a former Ziegfeld dancer, with whom he had two children.

Jack Pepper first gained fame in vaudeville as part of a duo called “Salt & Pepper” alongside Frank Salt. He also had a stage act with his siblings and was well-known for working with Bob Hope, touring to entertain troops and appearing in several of Hope’s films and TV specials.
