Personal and Family Life
Jackie met her husband, Paul Blaisdell, while both were studying at the New England School of Art and Design. They got married shortly after graduating in the early 1950s and moved to California. Together, they worked on creating monster masks, costumes, and special effects for low-budget sci-fi and horror films. The couple did not have any children.
Death and Legacy
After Paul Blaisdell’s death from cancer in 1983, Jackie became very reclusive. Sadly, she was found dead in her home on December 2, 2006, by a neighbor, though the coroner recorded her death date as November 30. Her contributions to the film industry, particularly in special effects and monster creation, are remembered fondly.
