James Gordon was an American actor who is best known for The Last of the Mohicans, Hearts of Oak, and Tess of the D’Urbervilles.

James Gordon was born on April 23, 1871, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He was married to Rita and later to Mabel Van Buren, with whom he had one child. Throughout his career, he was also one of the founders of the acting group called “The Troupers.” He gained prominence as a leading man for Julia Marlowe in various Shakespearean plays performed across the country.

Death and Legacy

James Gordon passed away on May 12, 1941, in Hollywood, California, due to complications from surgery. His contributions to theatre and film left a mark on the entertainment industry, particularly in Shakespearean performances.
