Jana Sulcová

Personal and Family Life

Jana Sulcová was born on February 12, 1947, in Prague, Czechoslovakia, now part of the Czech Republic. She graduated from grammar school and later from DAMU (Theater Faculty of the Academy of Performing Arts). Jana was married to actor Oldrich Vízner, with whom she had two daughters, Tereza and Rozálie. Following the political changes in Czechoslovakia after 1989, she reduced her film appearances and focused more on television roles.

Career

During the 1970s and 1980s, Jana gained great popularity, not only for her films but also for her roles in Czech television series such as “Byl jednou jeden dům” and “My vsichni skolou povinni.” She was an active member of the Municipal Theaters of Prague from 1969 to 1992. In 2010, she showcased her acting skills in the film “Identity Card” as a school principal.

Death and Legacy

Jana Sulcová passed away on July 28, 2023, in Prague due to heart failure. Her contributions to Czech cinema and television have left a lasting impact on the industry. She is remembered and honored for her powerful performances and dedication to her craft.
