Jay Yorke was born on August 18, 1883 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was originally named James Cassidy Yorke. He had a successful career as a character actor and comedian in the early 20th century. After his time in the entertainment industry, he shifted to a career in real estate.

Career

Although he started directing comedies for Samuel Goldwyn in 1917, Yorke had to leave the film industry to serve in World War I. He fought bravely in the battle for the Argonne, where he was unfortunately gassed. After the war, he returned to Philadelphia and became a well-known real estate agent.
