Jean Harvey

Eugenia (Jean) Bartness was an American actress who is best known for her roles in Caged, The Ten Commandments, and Dragnet.

Born on November 19, 1900, in Ohio, Jean grew up in Malden, Missouri, living with her grandmother. She was introduced to acting at a young age, and her stepfather managed a local stock company, where she began her professional career at just four years old. Jean married Don C. Harvey on March 3, 1934, after meeting him while working in theater.

Jean enjoyed a long acting career, participating in numerous films and television shows. She starred in movies such as City of Fear, Women’s Prison, and The Werewolf. Jean also made various television appearances in series like Johnny Staccato and 77 Sunset Strip. Her dedication to acting continued throughout her life, and she cherished her time in Hollywood.

Death and Legacy

Jean’s husband, Don, passed away suddenly on April 24, 1963, which left her heartbroken. She struggled to cope with his death and eventually died on December 14, 1966, in Studio City, California. Jean is remembered for her talent and her deep caring nature, as she and Don were actively involved in helping others within the entertainment community.
