Jerry Allison was an American actor and composer who is best known for Almost Famous, American Graffiti, and Nowhere Boy. He was born on August 31, 1939, in Hillsboro, Texas and passed away on August 22, 2022, in Nashville, Tennessee.
Personal and Family Life
Jerry Allison was married twice. His first marriage was to Peggy Sue Gerron in 1958, but they divorced in 1967. He then married Joan Elizabeth Sveum on December 29, 1968, and they remained together until his death in 2022. He was the son of James Delbert Allison and Mary Louise Ferguson.
Career
Aside from acting, Jerry was also a drummer for Buddy Holly and The Crickets. He received recognition for his work in music and was awarded a star on the Music City Walk of Fame in Nashville on April 22, 2007, alongside Buddy Holly and Joe B. Mauldin.
