Jim Hager was born on August 30, 1941, in Chicago, Illinois. He was married to Betty Hager Rivero until his death in 2008. Jim had a close relationship with his twin brother Jon Hager, and they spent nearly all their lives together except for a brief period when Jon moved to Nashville.
