Born in Syracuse, New York on March 14, 1927, Jimmy developed an interest in music during high school, initially playing the alto saxophone in a swing band. After serving in the Navy during World War II, he performed at various clubs and continued to pursue his passion for music through his own band.
Career
Jimmy gained fame in the 1950s when he recorded the classic rhythm and blues tracks “Rock the Joint” and “Leave Married Women Alone.” His band, the Houserockers, became known for their energetic performances, even sharing the stage with legendary figures like Alan Freed. They made history as the first white rock ‘n’ roll act to perform at the Apollo Theatre in New York.

Jimmy Cavallo passed away on December 2, 2019, in Pompano Beach, Florida. His contributions to rock ‘n’ roll music and his influence on future musicians have left a lasting legacy in the music industry.
