Jo Sullivan was born Elizabeth Josephine Sullivan on August 28, 1927, in Mounds, Illinois. She was married twice, first to an unknown man until 1958 and later to composer Frank Loesser from April 30, 1959, until his death on July 28, 1969. Together, they had two children, including a daughter named Emily. She also had stepchildren, John and Susan Loesser, and was the grandmother of Hallie Stephens.

Career

Jo Sullivan had a notable career in theatre and television. She was nominated for a Tony Award in 1957 for Best Supporting or Featured Actress in a Musical for her role in The Most Happy Fella.
